2013 Spring Forum
NAWIC celebrated their 46th Spring Forum for Region 11 on April 19th- 20th, 2013. We kicked off the event by being honored by our hosting Chapter Columbia, SC #113. They set up a whirlwind Hospitality Welcome on the 19th. They prepared a beautiful spread of food and arranged a cartoon artist that we all enjoyed sitting for. We were honored by Sandy Field, our NAWIC Vice President during the whole event.
Saturday, started off with a great breakfast and chapter sales. We found time to mingle and meet new and old friends from different chapters. The meeting began at 8:30am with the outstanding Presentation of Colors by White Knoll High School. What a phenomenal job they did. They brought great pride to the start of the event. After the National Anthem and Pledge of Allegiance/NAWIC Pledge, we were so honored by the presence of Senator Katrina Shealy. The Senator was raised in construction by her father. She was truly a graceful and elegant speaker.
Our Key Note Speaker was Jim Mathis, CSP, the author of Reinvention Made Easy. He was truly a motivational speaker. He spoke about how to reinvent yourself and your business in this changing economy.
The morning meeting session covered the adoption of Forum Rules, Agenda, President’s Report, Region 11 Director’s Reports and Funds. We proudly voted our new Director Elect, Samantha J. Hedgepath into office.
Columbia, SC, Chapter #113 offered some great workshops for the early afternoon.

After a fabulous lunch we listened (Laughed at) our Speaker Suzette Porth, who believes laughter is the key to happiness. We also welcomed our new Director Elect, Samantha J. Hedgepath.
The Awards Banquet was held in the evening. We enjoyed another fantastic meal. I feel all I did was eat all weekend, but it was so good. Virginia Davis was honored with her 40-year pin. A sad note was when we thanked Debbie Knight for her years as our director. She will be sadly missed.
We finally ended the evening with some dancing and fun. It was a wonderful experience and glad I had an opportunity to meet such great women. It makes me proud to be part of this organization when I attend such amazing events. I want to thank chapter Columbia, SC #113 for a marvelous time.
